Qualys acquires Adya for management and security SaaS apps

Qualys, which offers products around cybersecurity software, has taken over the software from cloud provider Adya. That company offers software to help companies manage and secure their software-as-a-service apps. In addition, the software helps with compliance with important laws and regulations.

Adya was founded in the course of 2016. The company offers software that helps companies manage their critical SaaS applications from one place. This allows them to save costs on SaaS licenses, as well as setting up and enforcing security policies. Thanks to Adya’s software, it is also possible to keep track of all activities on one platform.

Integration within Qualys

Adya’s software supports various SaaS applications, including the Google Cloud, but also Office 365, Slack, GitHub and the NetApp accelerator. An important aspect of Adya’s software is that it also includes compliance and support for security. Administration, license management and research are all built in.

Not only does Qualys take over Adya’s software, it also takes over the company’s employees. Co-founders Deepak and Amit Agarwal of Adya also join Qualys. Deepak Agarwal will soon be the Chief Technology Officer for SaaS security and Amit will take the position of vice president of engineering for SaaS security.

Integrate solution

For Qualys, the takeover means that it can offer various SaaS administration services within its already existing service. Enabling security and compliance studies of SaaS applications is becoming critical, especially as companies increasingly rely on cloud software to accelerate their digital transformation, Qualys CEO Philippe Courtot said in a statement.

According to Courtot, Adya has built a solution that responds exactly to this. It does this by combining SaaS administration, licensing, security and compliance in one application. The Adya software will be fully integrated into the existing Qualys solutions and should be available during the third quarter of this year. The amount of money involved in the takeover is not known.

This is the third acquisition by Qualys this year. Previously, it took over Second Front Systems in April and Layered Insight in October.
