Data protection specialist Veeam has updated its Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partner programme, on the occasion of its tenth anniversary. Among other things, new tools have been made available to partners and the price plan has been tinkered with.

An important reason for the data protection specialist to update this partner programme for service providers and cloud providers is that the company wants to grow in the large business market. Currently, around 360,000 customers worldwide already use the specialist’s data protection products, mainly medium-sized companies. The data protection specialist now also wants to focus more emphatically on the corporate segment, and Veaam’s new venture capitalist-owner Insight Partners believes that its partners are ideal for this.

Veeam is now giving its Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) programme a number of updates. These updates should make it easier for its current 25,000+ partners to attract large companies as well.

Update of price plan

Specifically, the most important update is that of the price plan. The cost of the standard data protection platform Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise Plus edition will be reduced by 15 percent. This should enable partners to offer large companies competitive Backup as a Service (BaaS) and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solutions. For the partners, this should also result in more profit.

In addition, partners receive high discounts on software if they can demonstrate ‘long-term use’ by customers. Furthermore, partners will be able to purchase all Veeam services via a pay-as-you-grow model, so that no high CapEx is required.

Partners in Japan and the EMEA region will also now have access to a platform that allows them to build and deploy Veeam BaaS and DRaaS solutions at scale. Until now, this platform has only been available to partners in the United States.

Veeam Service Provider Console version 4

In addition to specific partner-related updates, Veeam also announced an important software update for VCSP partners that should offer more functionality. The new Veeam Service Provider Console version 4, previously the Veeam Availability Console, now includes functionality such as remote monitoring and management.

This functionality is directly integrated with ConnectWise Automate. Customer data is now simply housed in a central user interface. This reduces the use of different sources of customer information, and allows quicker answers to customer questions.

Further functionality

The now launched console also offers an improved usage reporting tool and full support for Veeam Backup & Replication version 10. For the latter application, partners now get enhanced functionality for NAS backup and Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows version 4.
