HPE and SAP have joined forces to offer SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud as-a-service via the HPE GreenLake platform. Customers gain all of the benefits of a managed private cloud environment while keeping their SAP software and data in their own on-premises data centers.

The combined service of HPE and SAP enables customers to purchase the customer version of the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud via HPE GreenLake as a fully managed service. They can purchase this service at the edge, in their own on-premises data center or colocation of their choice.

With the subscription service, customers keep their current SAP software and the data contained in it on-premise, while benefiting from all the cloud functionality that SAP and HPE GreenLake can offer.

According to both partners, the service is particularly suitable for those customers who, due to legislation and regulations, have to keep their systems and data in their own data centers. For example, the public or financial sector.

Properties

SAP provides all the expertise it has for managing complex private cloud environments, from the operating system to the SAP HANA database. For this purpose, the company offers the entire SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud application portfolio, including SAP S/4HANA and SAP BW/4HANA.

HPE, in turn, provides the complete underlying infrastructure via the HPE GreenLake as-a-service platform. Including all compute, networking and storage required for SAP solutions. This complete infrastructure is delivered, installed and managed by HPE.

Availability

The newly announced service builds on the long relationship that both parties have with each other. In addition, the service comes at an ideal moment now that SAP is more actively working on getting its customers to switch to SAP S/4HANA. SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud via HPE GreenLake is available immediately.
