Now customers of Amazon Web Services can purchase third-party professional services from Amazon’s online software Marketplace.

AWS Marketplace now enables customers to find and buy Professional Services from Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and consulting partners. Customers can choose from a selection of services, according to Amazon.

These include assessment, implementation, and support for third-party software purchased in AWS Marketplace. AWS announced the new Professional Services feature on December 3.

“Professional Services available in AWS Marketplace enable you to find and buy assessments, implementation, support, managed services, and training for your third-party software,” the company claims.

How it works for buyers

AWS believes that the capability to buy software and associated services from multiple sellers in a single cloud marketplace will enable customers to reduce onboarding time for each seller and simplify procurement cycles.

Customers can buy services with customized pricing, payment schedules and contract terms to fit their business needs. All software and services charges consolidated on their AWS bill.

Customers can refine the AWS Marketplace catalog listings to show Professional Services by using “Professional Services” delivery methods filter.

How it works for sellers

Amazon says that sellers, including ISVs, MSPs, and consulting partners, can now use the AWS Marketplace Management Portal to create new Professional Services listings in AWS Marketplace.

They can do this by utilizing the self-service product creation tool in the “Products” tab. When a customer requests a service, AWS will send the seller an email notification.

Sellers can also use the self-service offer creation tool in the “Offers” tab to easily extend Private Offers. This is an offer that targets a specific buyer-account with special pricing, payment schedules, contract duration, and contract terms.
