Tableau is extending its partnership with Amazon Web Services. With the launch of Modern Cloud Analytics (MCA), AWS’ scale and infrastructure services are combined with Tableau’s migration, integration and analystics tools. The goal is to help companies develop a cloud-based analytics strategy by migrating data and analytics workloads to AWS.

MCA expands the existing integrations between Tableau and AWS, including native data connections to services such as Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, and AWS Quick Start deployment guides. The companies state that MCA uses a number of migration methodologies that can help users implement self-service analytics in the cloud.

The first stage of the project will help customers migrate their workloads to AWS. Partners at launch are InterWorks, Slalom and TEKsystems, which offer MCA programs to help customers throughout their migration process.

The integrations include new switches for setting up Tableau servers on the Alibaba cloud. There will also be an integration with Alteryx, via Tableau’s Hyper API, for entering large data files. There will be a new expansion with DataRobot as well, which allows customers to publish AI-predictions as Tableau data sources.

Tableau also announced new integrations with cloud analytics company Kyvos, location data company Mapbox, AI software producer Narrative Science, data processing company Qubole and data warehouse provider Yellowbrick.

The new Tableau Partner Network has been divided into three tracks by the company. The tracks are Reseller, Services and Technology. According to Tableau, these tracks are aligned with the business models of the respective partners. In addition, new requirements are introduced for certifying and checking the expertise of those partners.
