Veeam announces a solution for backing up Salesforce. Additionally, a major update for Veeam Backup & Replication 11a is planned.

Veeam reveals the upcoming launch of a commercial version of a backup tool for Salesforce data. The commercial version, dubbed Veeam Backup for Salesforce, is based on an internal Salesforce backup tool. The tool is used by Veeam itself to protect its Salesforce data.

Functionality

The tool backs up Salesforce data and related metadata to any environment, be it on-premises or in public clouds. Initially, public cloud environments AWS and Azure will be supported. More options are to follow after the release.

The service further enables Salesforce data to be quickly restored after it is lost, damaged or compromised. Additionally, Veeam Backup for Salesforce allows companies to simplify compliance and reduce risk. A private beta of the tool is already available.

Update for Veeam Backup & Replication 11a

In addition to the arrival of Veeam Backup for Salesforce, a major update for Veeam Backup & Replication 11a is on the way. A cumulative patch should bring new platform versions for Windows, Linux, Oracle and SAP.

Finally, Veeam Backup for AWS 4a will soon become available on the AWS Marketplace. The update’s exact release date is unknown at this time.
