HP has announced an expansion of the Elite and Pro desktop PCs line. The new additions to the line are HP EliteDesk 805 G8 Series PCs and HP ProDesk 405 G8 Series PCs.

In anticipation of a permanent shift to remote working for millions of people across the world, the company said that the new releases are meant to offer users the capabilities needed to flourish outside of the office environment.

The releases combine speed, flexible connectivity options, and reliability in handling demanding tasks, intense graphics, and complex workflows.

Specs overview

Handling large files and applications is not a problem for the new releases since they are powered by AMD Ryzen PRO 5000 Desktop processors. They also support multi-display setups, for those who wish to work with more than one monitor.

HP also assed Wolf Security for Business to the PCs, which it says will provide an always-on and resilient defense.

These PCs come with Energy Star certification and are made of ocean-bound plastics. The HP EliteDesk 805 G8 Series PC has two bays, two half-height slots, 11 USB ports, and three M.2 slots. The EliteDesk 805 G8 Desktop Mini PC can be mounted behind the monitor or inside an HP Mini-in-One display.

When can you buy these?

The HP EliteDesk 805 G8 Mini PC, EliteDesk 805 G8 Small Form Factor PC, HP ProDesk 405 G8 Desktop Mini PC, and HP ProDesk 405 G8 Small Form Factor PC will all be available to buy in August.

Meanwhile, the world is facing a chip shortage that will most likely lead to higher PC prices as Dell, Lenovo, and HP, all pass on the higher costs to consumers.

At the same time, none of the top vendors is seeing any decline in PC demand. The world is changing and they are ready to capitalize on that.
