The September 22 event could reveal Surface Duo 2 and new Surface Laptop.

Microsoft this week announced that it is holding an online-only “Fall 2021 Event” on September 22. It is widely believed this Microsoft Event could feature both the Surface Duo 2 and the new Surface Laptop model.

Previous leaks have hinted at an impending launch of those products, but a closer look at the event tease on Twitter also reveals what could be a bonus Surface Pro device. Zooming in on the image, you can see what looks to be a Surface Type Cover keyboard and a slim Surface Pro model with the kickstand extended out. Media invites even mention that Microsoft will “talk about devices and Windows 11.”

Microsoft usually stages a reveal event in the fall. Reports leading up to this event include the debut of the Surface Duo 2, a new Surface Pro 8 and the new Surface Go 3. There’s also the possibility that Microsoft may debut a new Surface Book as well.

Here’s what we expect to see on September 22

The Surface Duo 2 will probably be the star of the show. Last year the company introduced the foldable Surface Duo phone at their fall event. The device differed from other foldable phones on the market with two 5.6-inch displays capable of functioning almost as if they’re separate devices.

Leaked images of the Surface Duo 2 appeared in July. These show that the form factor is mostly the same but with some changes. The most prominent change is the addition of a three-camera setup on the rear panel. There is also a more prominent camera bump. This indicates that the Duo 2 will probably support more powerful sensors.

The Surface Go 3 specs are at this pint less evident. Still, the device is likely to include an upgraded processor. This could be a Pentium Gold 6500Y or Pentium Gold 6500Y.

Processor upgrades are also predicted for the Surface Pro 8. Microsoft watchers expect the company to drop the entry-level 4 gigabytes of RAM in favor of 8GB. The unit may also provide 5G support.

Analysts expect both new Surface Go models to run Windows 11.
