LG announces two displays with automatic colour calibration. The 27- and 32-inch models build on the existing LG UltraFine product line.
Automatic calibration allows designers to match a display’s colour reproduction with a project’s requirements.
Suppose you’re faced with the task of designing a poster to be displayed on a whiteboard in a conference room. You know the specifications of the whiteboard. With that knowledge, you calibrate the display on which you work on the project. That way, you design with a reference of the colours that will actually come to fruition on display. After all, colour reproduction varies per panel.
The calibration feature in LG’s new models (32BP95E the 27BP95E) simplifies the process. Typically, designers depend on specific factory settings or third-party software to calibrate. LG integrates the feature to promote ease of use.
Professional use
While calibration is undoubtedly the differentiating factor, the displays’ other specifications are nothing to shrug at. Both models build on the existing UltraFine product line. That means slim designs, OLED panels, professional contrast ratios and plenty of ports.
The exact release date is unknown at this time. LG reports that the displays will be launched in the near future.
