Our opinion
We can rate this Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 as a beautiful laptop with excellent equipment and excellent performance. However, there are a few points that will either be exemplary, or that can be fixed with a software update. Since Microsoft can update both the operating system and the BIOS at the same time, this can be handled completely automatically in the background. The warranty conditions are completely in order and we are more than satisfied with the benchmark scores. When we compare all the scores we see that the performance of this system exceeds the average notebook by a large margin. Maybe some laptops have a higher score here and there, but the mix and balance of this Surface Laptop 3 is neat and tidy.
Unlike the 15-inch version we tested, the 13.5-inch version of the Surface Laptop 3 is equipped with the newer 802.11ax-compatible wifi 6. The 15-inch version still has to do with the previous generation. The Laptop 3 should also have a few extra USB connections, but despite this, there are more than enough features and connections available with which we can do our daily work satisfactorily. Also, the limited warranty conditions are not such that we are very worried about this. With this Surface Laptop 3, Microsoft has opted for important features that will enable us hardcore users to move forward for many years to come. Should we currently be faced with the choice to invest in a new laptop, this Surface Laptop 3 will be high on our wish list.
