Samsung presents solid midranger Galaxy A7 with triple camera

Today, Samsung unveiled a new phone. This is the Galaxy A7, the South Korean company’s newest midranger. The device has a large 6-inch screen and offers remarkably enough a triple camera on the back.

Samsung has equipped the midranger with a Super Amoled screen with a resolution of 2,220 by 1,080 pixels. The whole thing is kept running by an unknown processor, of which we only know that it has eight cores and is clocked at 2.2 GHz. According to the rumours, it is an Exynos 7885 processor that the tech giant already integrated in the Galaxy A8.

New trend?

One of the most important innovations to this device is found in the back. There are three camera lenses and the fact that Samsung is doing this for the first time on a midrange device, indicates that it will soon be happening with a top device like the Galaxy S10. It’s a decent camera, at least, that’s what it looks like based on the specs.

The main lens has a 24-megapixel sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. Then there’s the eight megapixel lens that cuts photos at an angle of 120 degrees and a 5 megapixel sensor with depth sensor for bokeh effects. A 24MP camera with LED flash is the first to be installed.

Another interesting feature of the device is the placement of the fingerprint scanner. It’s not on the front or the back, but on the side. This makes the device look reasonably clean both on the front and the back. Apart from that, the phone has a 3.300mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.

Price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A7 is available from 349 euros and will be available in October. It is available in three configurations: four to six gigabytes of working memory and 64 or 128 gigabytes of storage capacity. The A7 is available in blue, gold and black.
