Review: Microsoft Surface Pro 7 2-in-1 Business PC

Our opinion

With this Surface Pro 7, Microsoft brings an excellent successor to the Surface product line for businesses and the self-employed. Microsoft delivers yet another piece of extra performance and uniformity in the busy hardware market. We see this as an excellent performance that fits seamlessly with the many milestones that the company has achieved over the past decades. Important milestones, with whichbcompanies will especially save on management costs during the depreciation period.

We are very much in our element with the ‘Instant On’ function which wakes the system from standby in a split second and makes it ready for use almost immediately. The power consumption during standby is minimal, and in combination with the 3D facial recognition via Windows Hello, this creates an extremely powerful system that is ready to go at any time. According to Microsoft, it is possible to work with a full battery for a whole day, and we expect that this will certainly be possible with normal applications. Besides Windows Hello with 3D video recognition, the Surface Pro 7 is also equipped with Firmware TPM for optimal security. Nice. Very nice.

Microsoft looked very closely at the market from a hardware point of view and listened to its target group in particular. The technology of this innovative 2-in-1 PC is up to date, the finish is sublime, and the performance of this Surface Pro 7 is also very good. The weight of 775 grams (without cover) contributes to an even higher comfort on the go. With this Surface Pro 7, Microsoft brings an attractive solution in which technology, the BIOS and software are optimally tuned. Driver issues and hardware incompatibilities are now a thing of the past, and this gives Microsoft a clear advantage over other laptops or 2-in-1 systems that only use a Microsoft operating system. The standard 2-year warranty with additional warranty forms, including a possibility with next business day repair is very attractive. Moreover, we find the total investment costs quite competitive.
