OneDrive delivers a safer and faster sign-up experience for iOS

OneDrive delivers a safer and faster sign-up experience for iOS

Instead of using a password, the latest update enables the users to use a password sent by a text message to sign up for an account within the OneDrive app for iOS.

Microsoft is launching a new user sign-up experience for OneDrive, especially iOS. After an updated version of 13.13.2, OneDrive will allow the users to sign in for a new account using a one-time passcode received by a text message. According to Microsoft, the latest setup has replaced the need to use a password and has achieved a more secure and faster user experience.

Simply put, OneDrive has now enabled the SMS OTP (one-time password) method, which sends out a code to the user’s phone number. This method has proved to be highly secure in terms of the authorization. It adds a layer of security in verifying the user’s identity when signing in or performing an action.

Below is a brief explanation of the OneDrive’s latest update for the iOS changelog:

This sign-up setup is a faster and more secure way to sign up for a new account on the OneDrive app. Users could quickly sign up and log in with their mobile numbers and one-time passcode sent via text message. This update has eliminated the hustle of remembering and recalling the passwords.

Moreover, to make the user experience more secure and efficient, OneDrive has allowed users to access the Teams through its web interface easily.

To make it more responsive, OneDrive now allows the users to delete folders up to 10,000 all at once.

Microsoft commented that “We’re continuously adding features to make it easier for you to collaborate with others, whether you’re working in OneDrive, Teams, or SharePoint.”
