Databricks One brings data and AI to the entire organization

Databricks is launching Databricks One, a new interface designed to make data-driven insights more accessible. The environment offers AI/BI dashboards, conversational AI, and Databricks Apps.

The goal is to bring data intelligence to all business users, from executives to employees in finance, marketing, and sales. “Our mission at Databricks is to democratize data + AI,” said Co-founder and CEO Ali Ghodsi. “Every person of every skill level should have equal access to work with data and use AI.”

Simple analytics with AI

At the heart of Databricks One are AI/BI dashboards. These allow teams to explore visualizations and perform advanced analytics without writing code. Think about forecasting and key driver analysis. The platform also includes AI/BI Genie, a conversational assistant that answers questions entered in natural language.

Users can ask questions such as “Which region is growing the fastest?” or “Why did sales increase in April?” The system understands business-specific semantics. Genie will soon also support “Deep Research,” which shows what happened, as well as why and how.

Databricks Apps for complex workflows

In addition to analytics, users also get access to Databricks Apps. This feature enables organizations to package complex workflows that combine analytics, AI, and transactional processing into custom applications.

These apps are designed to address specific problems and enable you to go beyond data analysis. They integrate different business processes into a single interface.

Built on existing foundations

Databricks One builds on the existing Data Intelligence Platform. This offers additional extension as unified governance via Unity Catalog, where administrators can centrally set access rights. There is also no license restriction per user, making it easy for organizations to add employees. The platform runs on Databricks’ serverless compute infrastructure, which is designed to deliver interactive performance at enterprise scale.

Databricks One is being rolled out in private preview starting today. The beta version will follow later this summer for all customers. The product is available at no additional cost to existing Data Intelligence Platform customers.
