SUSE has launched two new services designed to provide users with technical expertise and product knowledge, in an addition to the company’s Global Services portfolio. According to SUSE, a lack of internal skills is one of the main barriers for digitisation in companies.
“Our subject matter experts work closely with our customers from discovery, design and through to deployment and optimization of the SUSE solution,” said Kenny Stewart, vice president of SUSE Global Services. “SUSE assists and sustains our customers over the entire length of the services engagement. Our long-standing, trusted relationships with our customers ensure we reach their business outcomes quickly and efficiently.”
With the new portfolio, the company wants to give users the opportunity to explore, discover and ultimately choose open source IT solutions. The optimisation of that solution and the subsequent delivery of services should also become easier.
Discovery Services & Design Services
The new solutions are called SUSE Discovery Services and SUSE Assist: Design Services. Discovery Services is a solution which enables users to understand and evaluate customer business needs, enabling them to find a suitable open source solution to address the customer’s problem. With Assist: Design Services, users can do workshops in which they create design documentation for their solution, together with SUSE experts. This documentation is adapted for each user and/or solution, to specific requirements and circumstances.
SUSE describes the entire process that users of Global Services enter as fully guided. It starts with discovering what solutions and leadership are needed to help customers achieve their goals. Next, a design must be chosen that accelerates implementation, and that is specifically tailored to each customer. The implementation and subsequent optimisation must be accompanied by access to SUSE professionals for maintenance, support and knowledge transfer.
