This morning, Citrix released the first patches for Citrix Application Delivery Controller (Citrix ADC) and Citrix Gateway, formerly known as NetScaler Gateway. These are patches for versions 11.1 and 12.0. More patches for other versions will follow later this week.

The problem with the Citrix software has gotten out of hand in a short period of time, so Citrix has undoubtedly worked a bit harder to make the patches available sooner.

Currently version 11.1 and 12.0 can be patched. For versions 10.5, 12.1, 13.0 the patches will appear next Friday. The patches were originally scheduled to be released on January 27th and 31st. Organisations are strongly advised to roll out the patches as soon as possible.

Many organisations will be pleased with today’s patches, because last week many companies decided to temporarily disable the Citrix servers in order not to risk being hacked or infected with malware.

Once the patches have been installed, a tool can also be used to check if the patches have been implemented properly and the known security vulnerabilities have been sealed.
