Veeam appoints new CEO: Anand Eswaran tasked with billion-dollar growth

Veeam appoints a new CEO. Anand Eswaran is tasked with boosting the organization’s annual recurring revenue from one to two billion dollars.

According to Veeam, the changing of the guard allows its current CEO (William Largent) to focus on chairing the Board of Directors. Anand Eswaran, former COO of RingCentral and VP at SAP, fills his spot.

Decisive moment

Billion-dollar growth is ambitious, but Eswaran has the experience to back it up. For the past two years, he served as COO of RingCentral, a billion-dollar unified communications organization. Before that, he managed 24,000 employees as VP of Microsoft Enterprise. Even earlier, he served as VP of tech giants SAP and HPE.

Eswaran’s enlistment comes at a vital point in time. In 2008, two years after Veeam’s founding, the then 10-person company launched a backup solution for VMware vSphere virtual machines. Today, with more than 4,000 employees, Veeam develops a platform for backing up entire infrastructures consisting of various cloud providers and technologies.

The organization is growing rapidly. Suitability for environments and business types broadens. Eswaran is trusted to both maintain and push the trends curve. His experience suggests a serious chance at success, but only time can tell what the next few years have in store for Veeam.
