UiPath a major update to its platform. The intent is to tackle the issues around the sprawling and disparate form enterprise apps take.
The coming new release announced at the company’s FORWARD IV event is made to enable companies to apply artificial intelligence (AI) everywhere to help information technology teams scale, maintain and protect automation to make it easier for developers to automate.
UiPath is a leader in the robotic process automation (RPA) market and sells its platform to companies seeking to cut costs and reduce operational errors through the automation of repetitive work.
Tackling fragmentation
The platform is driven by AI models that learn how employees perform common tasks in business apps. It then creates software robots that can replicate the workflows, reducing the need to perform them manually.
The headliner of UiPath’s 2021.10 release is a new integration service meant to tackle application sprawl problems. The average enterprise uses more than 175 apps across cloud and on-premises environments, which leads to reduced productivity due to fragmentation. The idea here is to use the integration service to help companies optimize apps used through the automation of APIs (application programming interfaces).
The integration
UiPath Integration Service will launch on October 25, with more than 70 pre-built connectors expected to be available out-of-the-box by the end of the year.
On the security side, new endpoint protection features are available through UiPath’s integration with the Falcon platform by CrowdStrike. There is also a new capability called Robot Auto-Healing that regularly looks through a robot’s runtime environment to find and fix security issues without needing humans.
