Another hacker camp will take place in the Netherlands in 2025. This will be the successor to May Contain Hackers (MCI2022).
The hacker camp focuses on knowledge sharing, technological advancement, experimentation and connecting with each other. Ethical hackers camp for a week during this event, divided into different “villages” focusing on one topic or activity.
The event does not occur every year, but a new edition will take place in 2025. For the upcoming edition, the event will be located in the Geestmerambacht recreational area, near Alkmaar. The event starts on August eight and closes on August 12, 2025.
WHY
The organization is proud to share the name of the event: What Hackers Yearn (WHY). Each edition is characterized by its own unique name. This tradition started in 1989 with the name Galactic Hacker Party (GHP). WHY was chosen because of the why question that hackers always ask or receive. Therefore, according to the organizers, the name fits perfectly with the curious nature of hackers.
The previous edition of the hacker camp took place in Zeewolde. 3,200 ethical hackers showed up then at May Contain Hackers (MCI2022). That turnout made it a sold-out edition.
