Vertiv is introducing a new series within its Liebert GXE portfolio designed to better secure power to 230V equipment in distributed IT and edge environments.
The new Liebert GXE UPSs are online single-phase UPSs with power ratings ranging from 1kVA to 3 kVA. They also feature dual conversion capabilities for 230V equipment, such as data center hardware.
Functionality
The new UPS systems complement the existing range of Liebert GXE UPS models, now available from 1kVA to 10kVA. They are designed to support backup power in distributed IT networks and edge environments, particularly for mission-critical applications.
The systems are available in both tower and rack versions. According to Vertiv, they offer high efficiency of up to 91 percent in online mode and up to 96 percent in ECO mode.
Extra long-term power supply
In addition, the UPSs feature a battery management system that extends battery life and minimizes the need for replacement. With an output power factor of 0.9, more active loads can be connected within a given space. Dual conversion technology protects the system from power failures.
Vertiv UPS systems can be expanded to include up to four external battery cabinets for situations requiring more extended emergency power. A built-in 6-amp charger ensures fast battery charging times.
Vertiv said hot-swappable VRLA batteries could be replaced within data centers without the need for specifically trained personnel or power shutdowns, contributing to trouble-free operation of emergency power equipment and lower maintenance costs.
Extras and availability
Several extras are also available for the new Vertiv Liebert GXE UPSs, including remote monitoring capabilities via the optional Vertiv Liebert Intellislot Unity Communications card. The Vertiv Power Insight software can be downloaded free of charge, and several support services are available.
These services include warranty extensions, Power Emergency packages, and other options, depending on the country and UPS system model.
The new Liebert GXE UPS systems are available through channel partners and resellers in the Asia, EMEA and Latin America regions.
