With its Validated Designs for Manufacturing applications, Dell Technologies is bringing system packages aimed at high-performance computer-aided engineering and design to market. This allows companies to create high-performance technology designs and bring them to market.

With the advent of Validated Designs for Manufacturing, companies can more easily use high-performance computer-aided design to develop and manufacture high-value products. Think, for example, of Formula 1 racing teams or airlines that require hardware and software to calculate aerodynamic influence on cars and aeroplanes.

Combination of hardware and software

The solutions consist of hardware elements such as servers, storage and networking, including Dell EMC PowerEdge servers, NVMe storage solutions, new Powerswitch switches and Infiniband networking from Nvidia. In addition, systems include Dell EMC PowerEdge accelerator options such as the just-released AMD Instinct Mi-210 accelerator and soon the Nvidia A16 Tensor Core and Nvidia A2 GPUs.

On the software front, options include Siemens’ Simcenter Star CCM+ computational fluid dynamics simulation software.

Building blocks

In addition, there are so-called modular building blocks available to give users more customization. These include solutions for rolling out new clusters and for scaling or upgrading existing design environments. Furthermore, there are also specially developed solutions available that should ensure higher performance of HPC workloads.
