Juniper Networks has acquired WiteSand, a cloud-based Network Access Control (NAC) vendor. Its portfolio should allow Juniper’s customers to further monitor network access on a zero trust basis.

WiteSand’s cloud-based solutions allow security specialists to deploy and manage Network Access Control services. Its portfolio serves as a modern alternative to traditional NAC, which is often based on physical on-premises appliances and legacy hardware lacking integrations with cloud solutions. WiteSand’s cloud-native NAC bridges the gap.

Juniper Networks acquired WiteSand to integrate its technology into the Mist AI portfolio. The integration should ultimately improve the various cloud-based services that Mist AI provides. These include Wireless Assurance, Wired Assurance, the Marvis virtual assistant and the recently launched IoT Assurance for securing IoT networks.
