ASMI acquires Reno Sub-Systems for semiconductor manufacturing

Semiconductor manufacturer ASM International (ASMI) is acquiring Reno Sub-Systems.

Reno Sub-Systems provides radio frequency solutions for nano-scale manufacturing processes. ASM International uses the technology to produce manufacturing machinery.

Reno Sub-Systems’ radio frequency systems (RF) power the production of semiconductors sized 14 nanomillimeters (nm) level and less. The systems are vital for manufacturing the wafers on which semiconductors reside.

Plasma tooling

ASM International plans to use Reno Sub-Systems’ technology for its plasma-based manufacturing tools. Ultimately, the newly acquired technology should improve ASM International’s plasma products and solutions.
