Micro Focus launched HCMX FinOps Express. The SaaS solution maps an organization’s public cloud spending, finds unnecessary capacity and compares cloud offerings to reduce costs. HCMX FinOps Express is available immediately.
Public cloud spending is increasing worldwide. The importance of cloud spend management grows accordingly. Although providers like Google, AWS and Microsoft develop tools to optimize spending, the tools rarely take the offerings of competitors into account. With HCMX FinOps Express, Micro Focus takes on the role of a mediator.
HCMX FinOps Express
First, the SaaS solution creates an overview of an organization’s entire cloud spending. A central dashboard provides insight into the costs of Google, AWS and Microsoft. Next, the solution points out unused or underused capacity, which helps find and adjust unnecessary investments.
Cloud expenses can be linked to projects, business units or teams. Categorizing expenses creates a clear overview. Moreover, the solution allows organizations to set budgets for projects and teams. As a result, expenses can easily be controlled.
The solution is interesting for both cost management and procurement. HCMX FinOps Express makes it possible to display the product offerings of major cloud providers in a single catalogue. Organizations can assemble the catalogue themselves by, for example, excluding expensive or non-compliant products.
By allowing organizations to filter out unwanted products, teams can use the catalogue to self-service cloud capacity without having to consult a controller or other department.
Micro Focus HCMX
HCMX FinOps Express is not the first cloud spend management product. NetApp subsidiary Spot has been optimizing cloud investments for years. Other examples include CloudZero and Flexera.
The solution is part of HCMX, a Micro Focus portfolio of hybrid cloud management products. We recently wrote an extensive article on the content and purpose of HCMX. FinOps Express is available immediately.
