New Security Gateways from Check Point Software Technologies meet market demands and offer ever-higher performance.

The pressure on the network is constantly increasing, especially when it comes to cybersecurity. Performance must be there, but it must always be secure. Network security plays an important role in this. This is where Check Point, as the “inventor” of the firewall, has been playing an important role for years. The firewall in particular gets a lot of attention. However, this part of the network has to move stay up to date. That is why Check Point announces Quantum Force today. This is a new layer in the firewall offering, which above all should offer even better performance.

10 new models

Check Point Quantum Force is not so much a replacement for what Check Point currently offers. That’s quite striking, since Check Point today announces no fewer than ten new firewalls/security gateways. These come on top of the offerings and should be able to handle some more challenging use cases. This is necessary according to the company, as networks become increasingly important and more heavily used. In order not to get in the way of the user experience, firewalls will also have to be able to handle this traffic faster and faster.

Below you can see the new Check Point Quantum Force models and how they stack up against the ‘old’ products:

The latter is certainly the case with the new Quantum Force models. Check Point claims a so-called threat prevention rate of over 63 Gbps. That is, it can safely inspect 63 Gbps of traffic, in a 1U or 2U size. Also nice to note is that, according to Check Point itself, the new series is twice as efficient as current offerings. This extra performance is due in part to the wider rollout of Nvidia’s custom chips that Check Point introduced in its Quantum Lightspeed firewalls for data centers . In addition to data centers, Quantum Force is aimed at other environments such as campus networks and network perimeters too.

99.8 percent blocking rate

Check Point Quantum Force is powered by Check Point’s Infinity Platform. This provides integration of more than 50 AI engines and it makes cloud-based security intelligence available to the firewalls/security gateways. Check Point claims a 99.8 percent blocking rate against malware, as has basically always been the case in recent years. This is actually independent of the hardware. The hardware mainly determines how fast it can achieve this blocking rate for customers. Quantum Force is another step ahead in this regard.

During the keynote at CPX 2025 today, Check Point CEO Gil Shwed adds some more context to the 99.8 blocking rate. He shows several slides on stage in which this blocking rate is compared to how several competitors perform. Bear in mind that Check Point made the selection of competitors and the malware, but it’s an interesting stat nonetheless. It’s also a standardized test by Miercom.

All in all, we think it’s interesting to see that Check Point continues make a lot of noise around a new line of firewalls. Not so long ago we heard from certain companies in the market that firewalls were a thing of the past and even that they were no longer necessary. Check Point clearly doesn’t agree with this sentiment. In part, this is only logical, since the company was at the cradle of this product category. On the other hand, Check Point wouldn’t put so much time and effort into it if firewalls were no longer needed.

Perhaps we’re moving toward a different type of firewall. Especially with the realization among many companies that hybrid or multi-cloud is the strategy toward the future, there is plenty of room for firewalls/security gateways to remain relevant. Check Point obviously thinks this too.
