Fortinet has integrated its next-generation firewall and Secure SD-WAN solutions with Microsoft Azure Virtual WAN.
The integration should give enterprises more options for applying advanced security rules to virtual WAN traffic. The integration also makes Secure SD-WAN available in the Azure Virtual WAN Hub.
These applications promise to bring enterprises a simplified and automated transition to the cloud and SD-WAN. Additionally, the integrations will allow them to interconnect applications and workloads in Azure and other cloud environments.
Benefits of this integration include security for virtual WAN traffic, relatively simple integration, and configuration capabilities. Consider the selection of VM’s with FortiGate and configuring their deployment, which can now be done directly from the Azure Marketplace or the user interface of Azure Virtual WAN.
In addition, the integration enables applications and workloads in various cloud environments. Users of Fortinet Secure SD-WAN and other Fortinet Security Fabric solutions can extend the functionality to their entire infrastructure. Doing so allows for a consistent application of security rules and a central overview.
