HPE recently took over Determined AI in a bid to improve their model creating abilities and make them more time-efficient.
Details of the acquisition
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has acquired a startup named Determined AI with an open-source machine learning platform used in training models faster. HPE states that Determined AI’s technologies will enable businesses to create their models faster, delivering business value without worrying about the infrastructure underneath.
The value of the deal and other terms have not yet been disclosed.
Why did this acquisition take place?
HPE wants to integrate the technology of Determined AI with its high-performance computing and artificial intelligence portfolio. HPE is changing its business model to a hardware-as-a-service one, using their Greenlake platform in scaling infrastructure. The platform of Determined AI will make it easier to configure, manage and set up AI clusters and workstations on-premises within the cloud.
