PTC has acquired pure-systems. PTC intends to use this to expand its Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities.
The acquisition, of which no financial details were disclosed, is a continuation of the extensive cooperation that companies already had. Pure::variants solutions from pure-systems have long been used within PTC’s ALM and PLM solutions.
These include the PTC Codebeamer ALM solution and the PTC Windchill PLM solutions.
Expansion of ALM capabilities
With the arrival of pure-systems within its portfolio, PTC expects to expand its market share in the ALM market. One example is that it aims to stimulate the use of this type of software and especially serve specific customers. These include the automotive, aerospace and medical device manufacturers.
