The latest update delivers four innovations and one expected improvement.

This week Xledger released its latest update of 2021 for its cloud-based ERP solution. The update is called R2-2021 and includes several innovations and enhancements to the expenses module. The improvements include updates to business intelligence, usability, and reporting.

The company detailed the release in a blog post. “After the new expense module in our first release, Xledger listened to its customers and testing teams.,” they write. “As a result, our second release includes a variety of small improvements, none that deserves mention but all targeted toward where users spend their time.”

Focus on Business Intelligence

Most of the improvements, however, focus on Business Intelligence. The latest release enhances its BI improvements in two ways, according to Xledger. These are dashboards and inquiry (or flex screens).

Dashboard accessibility: A ‘block’ refers to a graphic representation of data in a user’s dashboard, they write. “Users already have the option to add their most-used blocks to the default favorites tab for quick access. However, now users can nestle blocks under their own tabs.”

The dashboard also offers what Xledger calls “entity groups”. An entity group gives users the ability to categorize multi-entity companies into custom groups. Users can create groups that suit their business without having to restructure the entity hierarchy. As an example, Xledger cites grouping by region or product to consolidate their report summary.

Inquiry, aka “flex screens”: The term “flex screen” is what Xledger uses to describe an advanced interface for data entry and retrieval. Flex screens underpin all users, enabling them to perform precise searches, the company says. They can also choose the exact information they want to see. A growing majority of Xledger’s system builds around flex screens.

The remaining two improvements include “OB Rollup”, which enables users to view the opening balance (OB) of a query without being forced to include prior periods in their search. The fifth improvement is Preview of Attachments. This allows users to preview all attachments within documents before sending them on to a supplier.
