The Hasso Plattner Foundation has the largest stake in SAP Fioneer, a controversial spin-off for the financial services industry. SAP Fioneer’s shareholders are questioning the joint venture.

The Financial Times discovered that SAP founder Hasso Platner holds a major stake in joint venture SAP Fioneer. Earlier, the Hasso Plattner Foundation claimed to be rapidly phasing out its majority stake. It now appears that the charity retained a 37 percent stake, meaning it is still the largest investor in SAP Pioneer.

Balance the scales

Hasso Plattner’s family members are some of the largest contributors to SAP Fioneer. The impact of the company’s financial construction is unknown at this time. A SAP spokeswoman indicated that new investors are being sought, presumably to balance the scales.
