The move signals Accenture’s increasing focus on “cloud first” strategies
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a wave of new acquisitions. Established companies seek to buy the technology they need to capitalize on the mass migration to cloud computing. As part of this trend, Accenture announced this week that it is buying Cygni, a software development company. Cygni specializes in cloud native full-stack software solutions.
Founded in 2006, Cygni has approximately 190 developers in several offices in both Sweden and the Netherlands. They provide a range of IT consulting and implementation services across the complete technology stack, including serverless and cloud.
Using cloud services to drive digital transformation
Cygni has significant experience across multiple industry sectors and in digital-led projects for the national government, according to Accenture. This experience has allowed it to help some of the country’s most recognized brands to transform digitally, they say. They also believe the Swedish company will further enhance the global capabilities of Accenture Cloud First.
