The joint offering will combine artificial intelligence with state-of-the-art hardware.
Speech Processing Solutions, the speech-to-text solutions sold under the Philips brand, has teamed up with US-based Sembly AI to provide high-quality microphones and smart meeting technology, according to a Philips press release.
Sembly uses artificial intelligence to offer users instant searchable meeting transcripts, highlight key discussion moments, and create summaries.
Introducing SmartMeeting
The new solution will be called SmartMeeting and uses devices with high-quality microphones that offer 360° recording to capture each speaker in the room. The solution “guarantees crisp, clear audio”, according to the company.
The solution also offers USB and Bluetooth connectivity options ensure flexibility and allow for a wide-range of use-cases both in the office and “on the go”, Philips promises. One product features an intelligent camera, which can be configured to automatically recognize which participant is speaking and focus on them.
How it works
The SmartMeeting solution uses an agent that can join any call it is invited to. Once connected, the agent introduces itself and records the call. After the meeting, the solution uses the Sembly AI-powered technology to deliver sharable, automated meeting minutes with “a high-accuracy transcript and smart summary”, the company says.
The proxy attendance of the SmartMeeting agent “improves task and talent management and business intelligence while also impacting secure information flow across teams for improved product management, collaboration, topic analysis, and productivity”, the companies claim.
Dr. Thomas Brauner, CEO of Speech Processing Solutions, explained: “the cooperation with Sembly AI gives us new market opportunities by offering best of both worlds”, he said. “Our unique solutions help busy professionals save time and conduct meetings more efficiently than ever before”.
“We are especially excited about the complementary nature and synergy between our two teams which is expected to boost both of our companies top and bottom lines”, added Gil Makleff, CEO and Co-founder of Sembly AI. “The Philips products seamlessly integrate with the included Sembly SaaS to provide more value to our end customers”.
