Apple has already provided its revolutionary VR/AR headset with the first security updates in recent weeks. The update comes even before the headset officially goes on sale. The latest update followed last Tuesday and closed a vulnerability which hackers may have already been exploiting.

Apple released a second update to the underlying OS for the Vision Pro headset, visionOS 1.0.2, on Jan. 31. This is according to a recent release note. Earlier, the tech giant thus released a visionOS 1.0.1 update.

Same bug in iOS 17.3

The latest update should fix a security problem that hackers may actively abuse. The vulnerability is in WebKit, the underlying software for Safari and other apps. The bug could allow hackers to run malicious code on affected devices.

The vulnerability CVE-2024-23222 is the same vulnerability for which the tech giant also recently rolled out iOS 17.3.

Apple Vision Pro is available tomorrow

The rollout of the updates for the Apple Vision Pro VR/AR headset is notable because the device is not yet in stores. The official sale date in America for the revolutionary and pricey headset is scheduled on Feb. 2.
