Apple is rumoured to be developing a foldable iPhone. The company is said to be considering such a device for production but has not yet made a final decision on the matter.
A Bloomberg source says that Apple has already developed prototypes of a foldable screen for internal testing. Whether the company will go into mass production of a phone with such a screen is not yet certain.
If it does, it probably won’t be this year, says the anonymous source. The prototype also has no more than a screen; the company does not yet have a full phone.
Foldable phones from other brands
Apple would not be the first brand to launch a foldable phone. Samsung has already made several foldable phones and Motorola has released a modern interpretation of its Razr.
There are also rumours that companies like Xiaomi, Google, Oppo and Vivo are working on foldable phones. This was revealed earlier this month in a report by Display Supply Chain Consultants.
