AVM has introduced the FRITZ!Box 6690 Cable and the FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX. The latter is a wifi 6 extender; the prior combines a wifi 6 modem and router. Combining both solutions should provide a strong mesh wifi network for homes and businesses.
The FRITZ!Box 6690 Cable modem/router features DOCSIS 3.1 technology with up to 6 Gbps download and 2 Gbps upload speeds. The router supports wifi 6.Mesh technology allows network devices to be chained to the model. An integrated DECT, IP and analogue phone system provides five answering machines.
FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX
In addition to the FRITZ!Box 6690, AVM presented the Repeater 1200 AX, a wifi 6-extender. The repeater functions as a mesh device, extending network coverage through two antennas for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. Speeds cap at 300 Mbps. Notably, the Repeater 1200 AX supports bandwidth distribution on par with wifi 6.
