Mirantis has announced a new subscription tier for Lens with additional features for enterprises.

The company did so during Kubecon + CloudNativeCon Europe. With the Enterprise subscription for the development environment, users receive additional Single Sign-On (SSO) features. For this, Lens can integrate with identity providers Okta, Microsoft Entra ID and JumpCloud. There is also support for SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management), which integrates with Microsoft Entra ID and JumpCloud. An air-gapped mode blocks all outbound Internet traffic from Lens Desktop, which may be useful for teams with strict network security policies.

Lens Enterprise is available immediately. In the US, the subscription costs $999 (€918) per user per year or $99.90 per month. Companies with more than 50 users can contact Mirantis to make special arrangements for Lens Enterprise.

Lens 2024

Mirantis is also announcing early access to Lens 2024. This includes several innovations aimed at stronger efficiency and productivity. The new version also comes with features for reduced complexity around managing clusters and applications.

One way Mirantis supports this is with a completely new Lens Extension API. In its own words, this is a more developer-friendly extension API that simplifies the process of extending Lens capabilities. In addition, the development environment features integration with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, giving developers access to all EKS clusters.
