Microsoft added new Azure functionality that helps customers run AI workloads in hybrid cloud environments.

The functionality is based on three existing services: Azure Arc, Azure Machine Learning and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) services. Microsoft wants to help customers run AI workloads on on-premises Kubernetes clusters.

Use cases

One use case is training Azure Machine Learning toolkit models in on-premises Kubernetes environments. Once the training is complete, customers can perform inference actions and spin up neural networks in production environments.

In addition, the AI functionality helps deploy AI to optimize on-premises data center environments. Finally, the functionality allows organizations to better distribute workloads over multiple public cloud platforms.
