Microsoft has officially launched .NET 7. The new version introduces various product updates under one umbrella.

.NET 7 brings a range of new features for various development tools and platforms, including C# 11, F# 7, .NET MAUI, ASP.NET Core/Blazor, Web APIs, WinForms and WPF.

In addition, .NET 7 helps developers containerize .NET 7 projects, produce CI/CD workflows in GitHub Actions and leverage standard cloud-based observability.

Features

The new release should improve productivity. Performance improvements speed up several dev tasks. .NET 7 offers updates for .NET MAUI and expanded support for Arm64-based .NET applications. Furthermore, thanks to a partnership with Canonical, .NET is now offered in conjunction with Ubuntu.

In addition, .NET 7 helps developers build cloud-based applications with features like built-in container support for .NET SDK, Microsoft Orleans 7 and observability integrations. Updates for C# 11 and F# 7 simplify the user experience, allowing developers to do more with less code.
