NorthC acquires Swiss Kyndryl data center

Dutch company NorthC has gained a fourth data center in Switzerland through an acquisition. The new facility in Winterthur is an acquisition of a Kyndryl data center.

NorthC is steadily expanding its European presence. In Winterthur, Switzerland, NorthC recently opened its fourth Swiss data center. This facility extends the availability of NorthC data center services to the Zurich region. The data center provider also has two data centers for the Basel region and one for the Bern region. All four data centers will soon be interconnected for connectivity.

In the LinkedIn message, NorthC confirms that the data center has been acquired from Kyndryl. The IT infrastructure provider’s division is also directly the first customer for the data center. Kyndryl has since signed an MSA for it to provide colocation services.

NorthC’s three previous Swiss data centers are also the result of an acquisition. The data centers in question and associated connectivity services in the Basel and Bern regions are from Netrics.

Also important telecoms hub

The data center in Winterthur is also an important communications hub for the Zurich region. The data center houses the equipment of several telecom operators. In total, the data center has an IT capacity of 1.8MW and may also grow further in the future.
