VMware has released a new version of its NSX Advanced Load Balancer. According to the virtualization giant, this gives customers in their private cloud environments more of the experience that the public cloud offers.
VMware has a strong commitment to the hybrid and multicloud and its NSX Load Advanced Load Balancer is an important feature on premises and in the cloud. The load balancer is a standalone product and must offer customers within their private cloud infrastructure the experience that a public cloud environment also offers, especially when it comes to automation and efficiency.
The distributed application delivery controller is the first product that VMware brought to the market after the acquisition of load balancing specialist Avi Networks in 2019. Since its introduction, this ‘super load balancer’ has received a lot of industry attention, VMware claims. The NSX Advanced Load Balancer is said to have now replaced approximately seven thousand load balancers in data centers worldwide.
Version 20.1
The newly released NSX Advanced Load Balancer version 20.1 has new features for large-scale network improvements similar to cloud environments that should improve global load balancing updates. These include Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) improvements.
A new architecture has also been added for Kubernetes Ingress Services that are well suited for the rollout of multi-cluster containers. Other functionalities include better management capabilities for customers and security services. Furthermore, the latest version of the NSX Advanced Load Balancer offers complete integration with the Google Cloud Platform.
NSX Advanced Load Balancer version 20.1 is expected to be available at the end of this month.
