Cybersecurity company Wiz plans to establish a headquarters in London. Co-founder and R&D head Roy Reznik is emigrating from Israel to head the location.
So reports The Guardian. Wiz reportedly plans to hire 100 employees for the London location by 2024. The global headquarters is in New York City. The EMEA region should account for 35 percent of the security company’s annual revenue. The company already employs some in the UK, but this personnel only focuses on sales and marketing.
“The UK is a region with many leading global brands and top tech talent, which is why we see it as key to the growth and expansion of Wiz,” Reznik said.
Fast moves
It rarely stays quiet around Wiz for long this year. In mid-July, it seemed that Alphabet, Google’s parent company, would acquire the company for 21 billion euros. Nothing could be further from the truth: CEO Assaf Rappaport is likely opting for an eventual IPO, which may take place as soon as the company turns over $1 billion a year.
Wiz itself has acquired other parties itself. In December it bought Raftt and in April Gem Security. It also raised a billion dollars on top of that in May, while the proposed acquisition of Lacework slipped through Wiz’s fingers. At the time, the company’s estimated value was $12 billion. So by its own admission, it wasn’t easy to turn down Alphabet’s $23 billion bid either. Still, Wiz’s story thunders on as an independent outfit, with new acquisitions and European satellite offices being logical next steps to take.
