KnowBe4 has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire MediaPRO. The intention is to combine the product portfolios of the two companies.
The acquisition was announced in a press release. In it, KnowBe4 says that MediaPRO customers will get access to the additional benefits of KnowBe4’s platform for security awareness training and phishing simulations. KnowBe4 itself will be able to offer a greater number of privacy and compliance training modules through the acquisition.
“This acquisition presents KnowBe4 with a great opportunity to provide our customers with an abundance of engaging privacy and compliance training content that will benefit their organizations,” said Stu Sjouwerman, CEO, KnowBe4. “This is also an opportunity to provide MediaPRO’s solid enterprise-level customer base with even more of the award-winning security awareness training content that KnowBe4 currently offers. We welcome MediaPRO to the KnowBe4 team and look forward to collaborating together in the future.”
“MediaPRO’s configurable and customizable offering is a great compliment to KnowBe4’s platform,” MediaPRO CEO Mike Metzger said. “This customization ability teamed with MediaPRO’s deep library of privacy, security and compliance training content will broaden the choices for KnowBe4’s customers and provide a myriad more options for reaching their training and awareness goals.”
Human aspect of cybersecurity
KnowBe4 is a company that focuses on the human aspect of cybersecurity. The company provides tools to train teams on compliance, security and privacy, such as a phishing test focused on social media or a tool that checks the quality of stored passwords. These services are used by several companies in the Fortune 1000. MediaPRO focuses on a similar market. That company offers security and privacy training courses.
Incidentally, this is not the first acquisition KnowBe4 has made. In 2019, the company acquired security software specialist CLTRe. How much KnowBe4 paid for the acquisition of MediaPRO is not known.
