A “dedicated pod of security experts” will operate as an extension of customer teams to solve complex security problems.

Rackspace Technology this week announced the launch of Rackspace Elastic Engineering for Security. The security offering transforms cloud security operations by offering customers access to a pod of experts who work as an extension of internal staff to address complex cybersecurity and compliance challenges. Rackspace Technology is the only provider in the market offering a cloud-like way to consume security expertise and technology.

The new offering encompasses security expertise in the areas of cloud migration, securing apps and data in the cloud, as well as ongoing management and support services.

Closing the gap between execution and operational management

“Now more than ever it is critical for organizations to rapidly evolve and efficiently operationalize their cybersecurity capabilities,” said Gary Alterson, Rackspace Technology Vice President of Security Services.

“Businesses working with multiple security providers and partners are facing a growing execution and operational management gap. With Rackspace Elastic Engineering for Security, our customers have access to a dedicated partner that has both a deep understanding of their environments and expertise in managing the end-to-end security lifecycle.”

The Rackspace Elastic Engineering for Security portfolio stack includes a wide range of services and technologies. For example, each customer receives access to a dedicated security pod. These include an engagement manager, a pod lead and lead architect, security engineer, and compliance expert.

Customers also have access to additional security architects and security analysts/penetration testers to work alongside customers’ teams.

Unified protection across multiple environments

Rackspace Technology security pods can design, build, and fully manage a defense-in-depth architecture for unified protection across multicloud environments. These include AWS, Azure, VMware, and Rackspace Technology environments. The pods proactively assess customer environments to identify, prioritize, and assist with remediation of vulnerabilities. They also identify cloud configurations and policies that do not align with industry benchmarks and best practices.

The security pods also provide risk management and remediation, as well as advanced monitoring and resolution for security.

Rackspace Technology global security experts hold more than 800 security certifications. These include more than 100 cloud security certificates from AWS, Microsoft Azure, and other cloud providers. They also have Global Information Assurance Certifications (GIACs) in Cyber Defense, Digital Forensics & Incident Response, and Penetration Testing.
