Fortinet recently introduced a new service that allows companies to create security awareness among employees. With this, companies reduce the odds of their employees falling victim to social engineering and other forms of fraud.

According to Fortinet, 73 percent of companies dealt with at least one security incident that can be partly attributed to a human mistake. Employees often lacked sufficient knowledge in the field of cybersecurity. The company also noted that hackers are increasingly targeting employees to carry out cyberattacks. Therefore, Fortinet is introducing the Security Awareness Training service.

The service provides employees with engaging education on information security, privacy, physical security, password protection and internet security. The Fortinet Security Awareness Training service uses current threat information provided by FortiGuard Labs security experts. This information is derived from the security experts’ global sensor network.

NIST standards

The service was developed by Fortinet Training Institute, which provides various training and certification programmes in the field of cybersecurity. The service meets the NIST 800-50 and NIST 800-16 guidelines of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Furthermore, Fortinet Security Awareness Training is part of Fortinet’s existing security training offering.
