Fortinet recently introduced FortiCNP. The solution allows security specialists to bring together data from multiple cloud environments and optimize security processes. The tool works closely with Amazon GuardDuty Malware Protection, a solution recently launched by AWS.

Fortinet introduces FortiNCP to help companies simplify security processes and improve efficiency. According to Fortinet, the solution helps manage risks that occur when switching to (hybrid) cloud environments. The solution should remove noise and show the most important security issue.

FortiCNP

Risk Insights (RRI) uses an algorithm to give security specialists risk scores for security alerts from other Fortinet solutions and third-party solutions, including those from AWS. This allows them to assess which IT resources face the most risk and require immediate attention.

The solution naturally integrates with Fortinet’s other security solutions, including FortiGate-VM and FortiWeb. The solution is fed with security intelligence from FortiLabs.

Amazon GuardDuty Malware Protection

FortiCNP is one of the first tools to integrate with Amazon GuardDuty Malware Protection from AWS, a recently announced service. Fortinet worked closely with the public cloud giant to develop the solution.

Amazon GuardDuty Malware Protection provides malware detection in data stores, disk volumes and workloads on AWS. FortiCNP complements Amazon GuardDuty Malware Protection with zero trust. The solution proactively scans workloads for malware without disrupting business processes.

In addition to integrating with Amazon GuardDuty Malware Protection, FortiCNP integrates with several other AWS security solutions, including Amazon Inspector, AWS Security Hub, AWS CloudTrail and AWS Organizations.

Fortinet will continue to expand FortiCNP’s functionality to support additional types of security notifications for cloud environments.
