Alation has introduced the Data Culture Maturity Assessment model. This model allows companies to evaluate the value that their data projects deliver.

According to Alation, companies increasingly need to demonstrate the exact value data projects deliver, especially as budgets shrink. This, while a “data-driven” organization, is becoming increasingly important for driving innovation, achieving greater agility and thereby gaining a clear competitive differentiation.

Data Culture Maturity Assessment model

Alation’s Data Culture Maturity Assessment model enables companies to identify precisely the exact value that data projects (should) deliver. Moreover, they get more uniform metrics with this model.

In doing so, the framework is based on information from Alation’s global customer base. This is to properly understand which metrics are most important to measure and determine the maturity of a data culture.

Linking data programs to objectives

With this new assessment model, companies can effectively link data programs to business objectives. In doing so, the model links metrics from data projects to four areas: Data Search & Discovery, Data Governance, Data Literacy and Data Leadership.

The results then provide the appropriate impact of the data projects implemented in each area, for example, the extent to which data projects in Data Search & Discovery are “mature” and how this impacts the productivity of the responsible business analysts.

Alation’s Data Culture Maturity Assessment is available now.
