ServiceNow announced the acquisition of the Belgian startup Sweagle. Sweagle specialises in configuration data management. Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
With the acquisition of Sweagle, ServiceNow can offer its customers the possibility to identify and intercept inconsistencies in applications and infrastructure during agile development cycles. Sweagle’s software will be integrated into ServiceNow’s Service Graph roadmap by managing configuration data for public and private cloud environments and modern application infrastructures such as microservices, containers and serverless computing.
“With Sweagle’s configuration data management capabilities, we will enable DevOps teams to deliver application and infrastructure changes faster while reducing risk,” said RJ Jainendra, vice president of ServiceNow. “Sweagle also brings in-depth DevOps talent to ServiceNow.”
Central data platform
Sweagle was founded in 2017 and offers configuration data management on a SaaS basis. The platform enables users to manage their configuration data, settings, parameters, security data and more from a central control panel. This makes it easier for DevOps and IT teams to manage data across the enterprise.
The platform uses machine learning to prevent misconfigurations that can cause product failures, and when problems emerge, they can be fixed at the earliest opportunity. The platform serves as a ‘single source of truth’ for configuration data, preventing this data from being spread across different tools.
According to Pitchbook, Sweagle raised 3.12 million dollars (2.76 million euros) in venture capital. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
