Quantiq is now under the control of Avanade, the $2+-billion Microsoft solution provider company. Quantiq is headquartered in London and employs 300 people. It has won the coveted Microsoft Business Applications Inner Circle award for five years running.

The terms of the deal were kept private. Avanade is a joint venture by Microsoft and Accenture, with 50,000 employees focused on the Microsoft IT services market. The company said the acquisition will significantly pad its Dynamic 365 capabilities and build on existing cloud-based Microsoft Business Applications offerings.

A light heavyweight

Quantiq is seen as Microsoft Dynamics’ crown jewel and regarded as an industry leader in the Enterprise Resource Planning software segment, according to Martin Wolf, the president of Martinwolf M&A Advisors of Scottsdale, Arizona, which advised on the transaction.

Wolf said that Quantiq is “winning and punching well above its weight” in comparison with other Microsoft Dynamics partners in the world. He added that Dynamics is the fastest-growing part of Microsoft and tied in into the cloud with Azure. The transaction offers Avanade a significant Dynamics outsourcing capability.

The secret sauce

Quantiq calls itself the only Microsoft partner in the UK that can sell, implement and support the full Dynamics stack in the cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premise. Quantiq founder, CEO, and chairman Stuart Fenton, transformed the Microsoft Dynamics solution provider into a premier recurring revenue services star. Wolf called Stuart the secret sauce that has made the company into what it is today.
