HR tech startup Darwinbox has acquired a strategic investment from Microsoft. The financial details were not disclosed.

The company will be the first Asian SaaS-based human resources (HR) platform to land a Microsoft cooperation, resulting in deeper integration between Darwinbox and the tech giant’s product ecosystem.

Darwinbox’s platform automates HR processes such as recruitment, payroll and employee engagement. The product will be integrated with Microsoft platforms such as LinkedIn and Dynamics 365, as well as Microsoft 365 applications Teams and Viva.

Darwinbox and Power BI

Microsoft Power BI ensures Darwinbox can enhance its AI-based predictive analytics engine and create visual analytics dashboards, allowing users across organizations to process data more efficiently and make quick business decisions.

With a customer base of close to 750, Darwinbox has a significant presence in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia. The company recently expanded into the US market and the Middle East. The partnership with Microsoft will further support these efforts.

Microsoft India

The partnership is one of a series of collaborations that Microsoft is initiating with product-led startups in India, where the tech giant aims to expand its ecosystem. Darwinbox’s offering covers over two million employees from over 700 enterprises across 90 countries. With the new partnership, the company aims to reach a $100 million annual run rate in the next two years.

“Startups across the country are making possible new ways of doing business and we are pleased to work closely with leaders like Darwinbox, who are completely reimagining the frontiers of employee experience with the power of technology”, said Anant Maheshwari, Microsoft India President.
