Acronis acquires DeviceLock expanding its cyber protection portfolio

With increasing IT advancements, cybersecurity has been a concern for organizations and individuals seeking protection from the growing number of cybersecurity threats. Acronis has now acquired DeviceLock, in a bid to provide more protections for its users.

DeviceLock is known for protecting organisations and enterprises by providing data loss prevention services (DLP). Some of the beneficiaries of DeviceLock include government and defense, banking and finance, medical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and retail, plus 4 million computers in 5000 organisations globally.

Integration is power

Now that DeviceLock will be integrated into the Acronis Cyber Platform, customers will enjoy better services. Acronis Cyber Cloud Solutions portal will be open to consumers and businesses.

Acronis is also working to improve its internal services to prevent data leaks. Desktops, personal computers, and virtualized Windows sessions will be better secured from any data loss.

Serguei Beloussov, the Acronis founder and chief executive officer, said: “We are looking at both developing new solutions internally, as well as acquiring additional leading vendors to add even more capabilities to our existing repertoire. The world of IT security is always changing, and we are determined to continue evolving our solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of the market”.

He also added that “by adding DeviceLock’s solutions to our portfolio of cyber protection products and services, we’re giving our partners and customers an easy way to deliver an unprecedented level of functionality among endpoint DLP solutions in an affordable price range.”

Combining existing technologies for the better

Beloussov was seconded by Ashot Oganesyan, who is the founder and Chief Technical Officer of DeviceLock. Ashot said that the merger with Acronis would induce product innovation and expand its distribution channels. The plan, going forward, entails a keen focus on meeting customer expectations, using their combined existing technology.

The two agreed that DeviceLock would be a fully-owned subsidiary of Acronis. Currently, financial terms for the deal have not been provided. DeviceLock has been in operation since 1996, with offices in England, Germany, Italy, Russia, and California.
